Half Body Farm Animals Drawing and Colouring Activity

Animals are always a sure hit with kids, especially when it comes to farm animals. There’s just something about these amazing barn critters that appeals to kids of different ages. And this huge interest that they have can be something you can take advantage of inside the classroom.

This is a great activity that mixes both science and art together.

Through this activity, you can help the kids become more familiar with farm animals – how they look, what they do, and more. The kids will also be able to use their imagination as they try to picture these animals in their mind as accurately as possible in an attempt to complete the activity.

What You’ll Need:

  • Paper
  • Printed pictures of farm animals cut in half
  • Glue
  • Markers, water colour, and other drawing materials

What To Do:

  1. Print out a few animal pictures and cut them in half.
  2. Glue half an animal on each piece of paper.
  3. Start showing one picture after another to the kids and ask them questions like what animal it is, or how many legs do they think it has. For smaller kids, you can even ask them what sounds these animals make.
  4. Have the children complete the pictures by drawing the rest of the animals’ bodies and colouring them.
