Do you have lots of used plastic bottles sitting somewhere in your kitchen or storage?
If you do not know what to do with them but you do not like to throw them away either then reuse and recycle them with the children.
Bottom parts of plastic bottles are a great medium for painting and can create interesting patterns.
All you need are:
- Old plastic bottle
- Scissors or cutter
- Paint
- Paper
First, gather and clean all the plastic bottles you need for this activity.
You can cut the bottle to make it the right size for the children or they may use the bottle as is.
Next, prepare some paint put it on a tray or low container big enough for the bottom part of the bottle to fit.
Then, paint away.
You can also add other details like buttons and beads as centre of the flower and paint or paste stems, branches and leaves.
This activity lets children be creative in mixing colours and practice fine motor muscle control.
It also teaches children to look at used objects or items as something that they can reuse and recycle.
Teaching children about the value of recycling is something that we all need to do to save the environment.
